Enrico Padula graduated in law from the University of Salerno in 1988 and entered the diplomatic service in 1991.
In 1994, he joined the Italian Embassy in Moscow as press officer. During his mission in Moscow, Enrico Padula is also in charge of cultural relations between Italy and the Russian Federation, as well as the supervision of the Italian Institute of Culture. Subsequently, he was appointed as the Consulate General of Italy in London. He returned to Rome in 2002 to the Directorate General for Multilateral Economic and Financial Cooperation.
In 2007, he was Head of the Secretariat of the Secretary of State.

In 2008, he was appointed Ambassador to Manama (Bahrain) and joined Montreal as Consul General in October 2012.

He is the author of publications and books on international relations and the history of the Risorgimento.
